Lauren Stewart is a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor who received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Texas A&M University in 2010. At Texas A&M, Lauren worked on multiple research studies evaluating the longitudinal academic development of students across various schools in the Bryan/College Station school districts. She went on to earn her Master of Clinical Rehabilitation Counseling from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in 2014. UT Southwestern provided Lauren with invaluable experience related to psychological/educational testing, cognitive behavioral therapy, and extensive knowledge understanding various mental/physical disabilities. She has worked in private practice since 2014 where she gained experience diagnosing, evaluating, and treating individuals across the lifespan. Along with evaluation and therapy services, Lauren has a passion to work with students in graduate school who are pursuing degrees in counseling and supervises multiple LPC-Associates who are entering the mental health field.

Lauren offers counseling for adolescents and adults. She specializes in the treatment of anxiety, depression, OCD, and ADHD, as well as offering therapeutic support for individuals facing difficult life transitions and challenges with boundary setting. Lauren works with her patients to set realistic goals, increase their emotional bandwidth, and gain greater clarity of obstacles that impact their emotional health. Lauren offers a safe, emotionally warm, and non-judgmental therapeutic space to collaboratively examine clients’ experiences, thoughts, and behavioral patterns. Additionally, she works with clients to explore alternative thinking patterns and problem solve to create solutions. Lauren uses a variety of empirically validated techniques such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical-behavior therapy (DBT), exposure and response prevention (ERP), behavior-based techniques, and mindfulness. Along with these strategies, Lauren also provides ADHD coaching and works with her clients to carry out practical activities in their daily lives/routines in an organized, goal-oriented, and timely manner by helping them identify realistic goals and build motivation to initiate changes.

In her free time, Lauren enjoys spending time at her ranch in Kaufman, Texas with her husband, three daughters, and multiple Brahman cattle. She also enjoys traveling around the world, listening to the Hamilton soundtrack, and playing fantasy football.
